I have an LML33 card (two, actually) on a rh9 box, and I am trying to
grab uncompressed images with the v4l api.
Using something like lavtools for compressed images works fine. Using
tools (likelavvideo and xawtv) that use overlaying in various ways works
fine. But actually grabbing an image and h
A follow up to clarify:
I saw the posts from David Ellingsen. I do not have the same problem (I
do use all the required flags for the mmap). However, looking at dmesg,
I see something strange:
MJPEG: using 2 buffers of size 128 KB
Is that buffers specifically for compressed capture, or is it all

I suppose you didn't use the v4l_bufsize insmod op
You are right; I didn't - thanks. Adding it (a whole story in itself)
didn't help, though. dmesg gives me:
LML33[0]: No bigphysarea_patch present, usage of high memory disabled.
LML33[0]: sorry, could not allocate V4L buffers of size 1280 KB.
LML33[0]: zoran_open: v4l_fbuffer_alloc failed

Ah, you didn't compile the driver with support for this.
Ok, thanks. I was beginning to suspect I would have to build my own
driver anyhow. It likely won't solve all my issues (I seem unable to
grab small images either), but it's a big step forward!
BTW, and just for my curiosity, do you know the reason bigphysarea

This isn't 0.9.4. 0.9.4 initializes with:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] tmp]$ dmesg | grep Zoran
Zoran MJPEG boa
