I've been happily converting VHS tapes to DVD for archiving and everything is coming out *great*. I just have two problems: 1) I can't predict how big the result will be so I sometimes encode too high a bitrate for a single DVD and have to do it over. This wouldn't be so bad, except for 2) T

What is the maximum GOP size? The page below seems to indicate user-SVCD should use mpeg2enc -f 5 -G 15 for PAL and -G 18 for NTSC, right? What are the defaults for mpeg2enc -f 5? Does SVCD mpeg2enc -f 4 use these values? -- Matti
