I was using VO with 2gb and it was fine, I am now using 4gb. You have to
understand VO is built into the OS so if your machine meets the requirements
for Snow Leopard then you are good to go. Windows machines require additional
RAM as they run on top of the OS.

Since going blind recently, I invested in a treadmill to keep the pounds off.
Obviously if you can't see, the display on the treadmill is not much use. So I

No, it seems to read past it. For example, if you are replying to an email and
you just want to read up to the point where your cursor is, you can read line
by line or paragraph, or hit VO a or B, but it does not stop at the cursor, it
continues reading past it and starts reading the previous

Have you got the address bar and the dock hidden? Or auto hide could be
activated for the dock, this means it will not come into view until you move
the mouse pointer down to the bottom of the screen. You can check the status
of the dock settings within the sub menu of the Apple menu.

I was not aware VO supported external 3rd party scripts? I thought it was only

copy it to an iPhone. I created the playlist in iTunes , but now what? Do I
need to have the mannually sync setting checked on the iPhone?
Perhaps it can’t be done with VO on the newest iTunes version.

We need to first verify that your track pad is connected and functioning. How
do you know whether it is connected? Did you have someone do some gestures on
it? If the Mac doesn’t recognize it then VO won’t either.

The conversion can be done on the mac using Calibre and the xsltproc utility
(which exists on your mac).
1. unzip the bookshare file using the unzip program in a terminal.
2. Convert the xml file to html format using xsltproc in a terminal.
3. Convert the html file to pub using calibre
You may want to tweak some of the vmware setting for keyboard and mouse.
If you’re running arch with speakup, you may want to consider plugging in an
external usb keyboard with a num pad. This would allow you to interact with
speakup as you would on a conventional desktop PC.
