Tim,
Thanks for your instructions.  It works quite well once you get the hang of it.

The only thing I would add is that once you interact with the scroll area and 
check the "sync music” box, you are presented with two radio buttons.  The 
first button syncs your entire library which is not the one we want.  The 
second button “selected playlists, artists and albums” is the one we want.  
Once this is checked we are presented with three tables: playlists, artists and 
albums.  You can interact with each of these tables to select what you want to 
sync.

So for the person who wanted to copy an individual song, creating a simple 
playlist containing that song would work.  The new playlist would show in the 
playlist table and could be selected for syncing.
