HI Shawn,
If you're still looking at reading uninerrupted on the Mac, I'd suggest
breaking up the document into smaller sections. I do know that you can bookmark
things in Preview and come back to them. This has worked for me before.
Outside that, I'm not sure if anyone else on the list has a b
You need to change the metadata in the track's info. Press Command-I on the
given track and change the track number and the track count.
for example, 1 of 20, 2 of 20, 3 of 20 and so on.
Usually, when I import an audio book, I change the info for all of the tracks I
import. This keeps the boo
I was under the impression that Windows 7 functioned optimally with 4 GB of
RAM, even though its spec called for a 2 GB minimum. I've always been in the
habit of doubling whatever Microsoft tells me.
In this case, would it not be better to run Win 7 64 bit under Boot Camp?
Especially on a DuoC
Hi list,
I have an interesting problem.
I've enabled some security on my Macbook Pro. One must enter the password upon
waking the machine from sleep. I have also set it up to force the user (me) to
log in upon boot.
At random moments though, I will hear Voiceover say "Authentication" and make
Hi listers,
Has anyone out there taken steps to lock down their computers, or iOS devices?
Is anyone using accessible, third party security software? Has anyone ever had
their system compromised? Is anyone using the pass code lock feature on the
iPhone?
I ask because I'm taking steps to secure
Ian,
I had no issues with turning on File Vault while using Voiceover. Everything is
straight forward. You must set a master password to unlock the computer and
decrypt your files if you forget your login password. If you have a large home
folder, the encryption does take a while. I have about
Hi Shawn,
You can set this in Energy Saver preferences in the System Preferences. I
believe there's a setting there where you can put the Mac to sleep when the lid
is closed and then set the time for the computer to go to sleep. You can set
this to something longer than the standard five minute
Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone is using Blacks Law Dictioanry for iOS and whether it
is accessible with VO? I'm also wondering if there's a desktop version of the
application.
Thanks,

Greetings Christine,
I have had a Macbook Pro for almost 2 years and have just encountered this
problem in the last few weeks. I inserted a disc and heard an error beep coming
from the drive itself, as if the mechanism was having trouble loading the disc
onto the spindle.
Now, when I insert a
A few points from me:
Windows comes with a screen reader called narrator. It's not as robust as
Voiceover, but Microsoft does "develop" it, much the same way as one vacuums
under the sofa—You're lucky if it's done every few years.
Yes, I agree with the initial suggestion. Tell Microsoft you wan
Hi Donna,
Did you make the rule active? I believe you'll need to do that in order for it
to take effect. There's also an option under the message menu to apply rules.
Command-Option L I believe.

Isn't it interesting that blind people are willing to fight for access to

What I do is highlight a tweet from the contact I want to message, then hit
Command-D. That will put you in the message window where you can start typing

send it, the message will be sent to your contact.

It sounds like there's a problem with the database. I don't quite remember how
to rebuild it, but someone else on the list posted something about this a while
back.

Someone wrote on here that they were having trouble looking up their friends in
Safari on the m.facebook site.
You can search for your friends by typing in their name. However, when I did
this, the links I clicked on returned errors saying the pages were unavailable.
Anyone else seen this?

Hi list,
Not sure if this has been put up on the accessible apps list on lioncourt.com

Hope this helps,

You were probably thinking of Bento. It's like a light version of Filemaker Pro

Hi,
The short answer is yes. The Bluetooth pairing happened right away for me with

It just works.
