Greetings Christine, I have had a Macbook Pro for almost 2 years and have just encountered this problem in the last few weeks. I inserted a disc and heard an error beep coming from the drive itself, as if the mechanism was having trouble loading the disc onto the spindle.
Now, when I insert a CD, I get it in about 7/8 of the way and then it meets resistance. I'm curious as to whether this is a defect with the drives themselves.
