Re: Part of a compilation

2011-01-14 Thread Kevin Shaw
Christina, the compilation check box is there so iTunes can properly sort the album according to the name of the compilation, as opposed to the names of the artists on that compilation. For example, a "Hits of the 80s" compilation may contain 17 separate artists, but you don't want each of t

In the Get Info dialog, you can set VO hot spots to the Next button and the Track title field to quickly jump from one track to the next. I don't know if there's a quicker keybaord command for this. Kevin -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisiona

Apple to Remove the Home Button from Future iPads and iPhones?

Saw this story and thought I'd pass it along. This could spell trouble for some of the accessibility features on the iPhone, for example, triple-clicking the home button to toggle VO on and off. http://www.macrumors.com/2011/01/13/apple-to-remove-home-button-from-future-ipads-and-iphones/ Kevin

Help with Nambu

Quick question: Is there a way of quickly jumping to the top of the timeline in Nambu? Sometimes, the VO focus will move down 100 tweets and I'll have to up arrow to get back to the top of the list. VO-Shift-J doesn't seem to work, and neither does my page up or page down keys. Thanks in adva

Re: The inaccessibility of Flash with VO

Flash sucks. It's memory intensive, proprietary and made by a company that doesn't care about universal design or accessibility. The odd time I've encountered a Flash intensive page, I've managed to find some type of workaround by getting the information from somewhere else or having someone fi

Re: a helping hand for developers in assessing their accessibility

This is a very positive step towards accessibility. What I like about this is that devs can receive more useful feedback than, "Dear developer, your program isn't accessible with Voiceover. Fix it." If this can be brought to light at something like the WWDC, I think huge strides can be made for

when Voiceover reads caps as individual letters, it thinks the caps form an acronym. Weird, especially 'cause there are vowels in the headings. I haven't found a workaround, but for common text, I'd put the word in the pronunciation dictionary and mark it as case sensitive. Kevin -- You recei
