Hold down option as you boot. VO won't speak at the screen where you pick the
booting OS. You'll need to arrow to the external drive and hit enter. After
that, you'll be presented with your logon screen or be taken right to the
desktop.

I believe this is an issue with all applications in general. I tend to find
that Safari, iTunes and Mail can become a bit sluggish, as well as Voiceover.
This is on a Macbook Pro that gets put to sleep more often than it gets shut
down or restarted. A quick restart often fixes the problem.

Having used ProTools quite successfully to fully record, edit and mix a five
piece rock band, I'd say it's quite accessible. ProTools can come in two
flavours. ProTools LE is for project studios and has a limited number of tracks
that can be hears simultaneously while recording.

You'll need ProTools hardware to use ProTools. In other words, you cannot run
ProTools through your laptop's sound card. This is how Protools works.

preferences, I believe. Apple uses the Advanced Audio Codec (AAC) for music

starts saying A1, A2 and so on.
If you create a new sheet, VO-Shift-M and select Header/Footer from the menu.

There should be an option for that under the Music tab control
Reordering playlists is easy. Cut, copy and paste commands, along with your
arrow keys, will reorder songs. Useful for making CDs as well.

Creating a hotspot with VO-Shift and the desired number will only move the VO
cursor to that location. No action will be performed. YOu can write an Apple
Script if you want a keyboard shortcut to carry out a task, such as opening a
specific application.

acronym. Weird, especially 'cause there are vowels in the headings.
I haven't found a workaround, but for common text, I'd put the word in the
pronunciation dictionary and mark it as case sensitive.

Try one of these:
1. In Pages, open the document. Press Command-P to bring up the print
dialog box. Navigate to the PDF menu and choose save as PDF…. Type a filename
and choose a location. Switch to the Finder and open the document in Preview
and press VO-A to read the entire docume
