Great, that worked.
Is this voice gone forever? It’s no longer available from the voiceover
utilities either. Correct?

Hi Donna, well, putting it honestly, a lot of things i can do quite swimmingly,
but I’m a total airhead when it comes to orientating my self with out a GPS,
so, yh, i kinda need it.
I wonder though, if i go out in Bf.s car and use the iPad for navigating,
should i not see the same in maps as
Hi Jonathan,
I don't tend to switch modes, unless I'm getting inadequate feedback, so my
guess is it's the second possibility. I had fewer problems after updating this
weekend, but I was also in a larger city than the city in which I live. I need
to do more testing this week, now that I am ba
Hi Sandie,
My husband feels your pain. There are days when I think he could get lost in
the back yard. lol
I would think that you would see the same thing on an iPad, though I don't have
one, so don't know for sure. I had fewer problems this weekend while I was in
St. Louis, but that may be
I thought about a curropted disk as well, but when I run disk utility on it, it
checks out fine.. but, since I am unsure, this is one reason I just want to
get everything off there asap! lol

Donna, i need to know, is it him who thinks he is lost, or You?
In aviation, we call that Spacial disorientation.
If i am anywhere, it being airplane, or car, the gps is the first i turn on and
certainly the last thing that i turn off.
As for males getting lost, in Denmark we have a saying , we ga
Yes, that is exactly right and what I’ve been doing.
Now, your mention of list view made me go and confirm I was in list view and,
apparently I wasn’t. It is all working again.
It is always the simple things. ;)
Thanks!

Hi,
I'm not positive that the iPad would perform the same as the iPhone outside of
the WiFi range. Unless the iPad is the cellular connectivity version. Yes,
the internal GPS may still work, but you don't have live access to the Maps
database, thus the problem.

Hi Jürgen,
Try checking Fred while in System Prefs, closing System Prefs then going back
in and unchecking him. Fred is one of the base English voices that is used in
the setup process so even when it's not checked, I suspect that it is present
in some manner. If your installation default was
If those voices are in the trash, just in case, you might want to
put them somewhere else. I might do it too but may wait for an update
that addresses this.

Anders, since you are running beta software, this is not the place,

Hi,
the only thing I can think of at the moment is that maybe a status identifier
has got stuck or is corrupt. Try going into iTunes Prefs, in the Advanced tab
and press the button to reset all warnings. Once this has been reset, connect

Hi all,
I think there were two things going on, and the bug is with the thing I wasn't
looking for. I thought the question was just about removing foreign voices from
the rotor, which I was able to get working perfectly by managing the entries in
the right spot in the VO Utility.
The question n

Hi Tim,
thanks a lot. That worked. I’m sure Apple will solve this issue sooner or later.
All the best

Hello,
Looking at my El Capitan system, there is a automator action to mount a dmg
file located in the files and folders area.
So, I would create a automator "application" with the action to mount the
dmg file and then run the created application at login.
Best Wishes,

Pure FTPD Is pretty good, at least for various Unix distributions. It’s
configuration files pretty easy to edit, and it’s pretty self-explanatory.
You can also give proFTPD a try as well. Those are the only two servers that I
know of that might work.

Hi Sandie,
It's pretty obvious to everyone that he is lost. :) And we have similar jokes
here. Lots of jokes about men getting lost and being unwilling to ask for
directions. At least mine uses a GPS. lol

If you need more control for the startup or you need the daemon to accept
connections when nobody is logged in, then look at LaunchAgents or
LaunchDaemons which are XML files used to start programs automatically on some
condition.

Why not just use the FTP server that comes with Mac OS?
