My experience is that you don’t do the time machine backup until after you’ve done the reinstall. You want to go from Utitilies, select to do a time machine backup, then, from there, you are presented with a table of drives from whitch you can select the drive from which you wish to do a backu

Hi, If there is a Download button after the music video, then it is not actually putting them on the iPad, it's just displaying all your purchases. If the Download button is not there, then make sure the Sync Music Videos checkbox is not checked in the Music pane of the iPhone section in iTune
