Hi list:
Any of you have experience with RFBD's Download Manager software? Are there
any things I might need to be aware of?
Thanks!

Hi Shawn,
You can set this in Energy Saver preferences in the System Preferences. I
believe there's a setting there where you can put the Mac to sleep when the lid
is closed and then set the time for the computer to go to sleep. You can set
this to something longer than the standard five minute
No,
You can't disable this. The Mac goes to sleep when the lid is closed
regardless of whatever settings you might have on or off.

Ananse Productions has just released a new accessible puzzle game for IOS called
Stem Stumper. The basic premise of the game is that you are Mimea, a vine who

Hi Shawn,
Q1: Will it hurt the MacBook? Not necessarily. You will kill your battery
much quicker and I'm not sure that it is really a good idea. You could set it
to go to Sleep slower if you wish. That is, instead of going to Sleep within
ten minutes , you could set it to go to Sleep after

Hi,
If you have an iPod Touch, iPad or iPhone, you can download the free Remote app
from Apple which will allow you to use your accessible iDevice to control the
1st Generation Apple TV. You will still need sighted assistance though to pair
the Remote app with the Apple TV.

I am having trouble with Skype 5. I try to dial into NFB Newsline, and I try to
enter in my ID and password, but it's not taking. I use command-2 to get to the
dial pad, but it doesn't seem to take. What do I need to do differently?

Once you enter the dial pad, you will notice that the virtual keypad is layed
out like a touch tone phone keypad. You just navigate to the digits you wish
to press and use VO+space to press them. I have noticed, however, that with
the latest versions of Skype, touch tones to seem to be lingeri

The download manager fine, but you need to be aware of the amount of disk it
uses. If your home directory is contained on a small filesystem, you might run
out of space on that filesystem. If you plan to store a lot of books, you may
consider storing the books on an external disk and just mounti
Nicaus,

Hi Erik,
I haven't updated my iPad to iOS 4.3.2 yet, but a rotor setting for
"containers" is great. Containers are the separate sub-units of the screen
that make use of the larger screen format of the iPad. For example, in the Mail
app on the iPad, when you're in landscape mode there is a list

Hello all,
I am attempting to make my first presentation in keynote and I have a question.
When I am editing a slide, after typing one or two lines of text, my mac makes
the noise that it makes when I type onto the next page in Pages. It does this
continuously as long as I type or move around
Hi Nickus,
Just to add to CJ's comments, you can certainly just update your system to Snow
Leopard. However, I usually take the precaution of cloning a bootable backup
of my disk before any major upgrades, even though I've never experienced
problems with this. Also, there may be some software

Dear Carolyn,
At the Chase bank web site I would bring up the statement. In order to

I don't have an iPhone, but I'd assume they both would have the option. Then

Hi Esther,
The cue point which is located next to the play button basically sets a point
during play from which you can go back. If you stop the turntable and leave the
cue play button pressed, it plays until you lift your finger.
I assume you have made some mental map of the interface, and aft
I think this new setting in the rotor became necessary because they took out
the 4 finger swipe left and right which, as I understand it, had been the

Hi Nickus,
Yes, you can simply upgrade and yes this process is easy. Just put the new DVD
in the drive, open the Installer and follow the instructions. Everything
should remain as you have it right now. I've performed this hundreds of times
without incident.
