Hi all,

I've followed Yuma's discussion of Algoriddim's djay (spelled "d j a y") app
for iPad with some interest, so this weekend, when I came across a more limited
version of this app for the iPhone, and a reference to the fact that they had
dropped the price from $4.99 to $0.99 for a limited time, I gave it a try.
This app is accessible with VoiceOver, and supports various functions for
cueing up music tracks, controlling their transitions, matching tempo (BPM or
beats per minute syncing and matching), mixer, tempo, and equalizer controls,
etc. Also, apparently with an optional headphone adapter you can pre-cue
tracks. There's a right and left track ("right choose track" and "left choose
track" buttons) that you can separately access. In landscape mode, the two
"turntables" appear side by side, with separate "right play" and "left play"
buttons in the respective bottom corners, with the cross-fade control in the
middle on the bottom; in portrait mode, the separate controls for a given
turntable are all on the screen, with the cross-fade control at the bottom, and
the buttons to shift the selection between the "left turntable" and the "right
turntable" for these controls at the bottom left and right corners,
respectively. It's somewhat easier to find the "Settings" button in portrait
mode, since you just move your finger up from the "Select right turntable"
button in the bottom right corner, while the "Play" button for the current
turntable is just above the "Select left turntable" button. You can select
music from your iPod library using a "Left (or Right) Choose track" button. A
"Toggle Tools" button gives you access to a panel that allows you to set BPM
(tempo), equalizer, or looping. You have to double tap on the button for each
of those selections to bring up the controls for it. To dismiss the tools, and
regain access to the playing control screen, double tap the "Toggle Tools"
button again. I've been having difficulty figuring out the controls, mainly, I
suspect, because I'm not familiar with djay playing equipment. I managed to
jump to a cue point, with the controls, but I'm not exactly sure how I set
this.

Here's the link in the app store if you want to play around with this:
