You would not get the Mac OS or VoiceOver on a netbook. Also netbooks are more under powered then the Macbook Air and tend to have smaller keyboards and do not have track pad gestures. Other netbooks will not have the same build quality either. The Macbook is a fantastic note taker and offers

I would have to dissagree. I keep Airport on all the time, and, I never have any issues. When I connect to a wired network, that connection takes over. when I browse wirelessly via my AT&T U-verse connection, that takes over right away when I disconnect the CAT 5 cable from my ethernet port.
