Are you getting errors or just no response? Probably easiest thing would be to find the AppleScript file and open it with Script Editor and try executing it there. command-r will run the Script in the active window. If there are errors with the script they will appear in a dialog box. Also

Weird. It works on my MacBook. I did afplay ~/Desktop/Peace.mp3 and it started playing. Tried the same thing on my ancient MacPro desktop and it also worked. Both boxes are on OSX 10.10.2. Are you sure the audio file was correct? Did it give any messages? Normally there should be no text outp
