I had an ida on this one. There is a iTunes remote by Apple on the IOS App Store. I believe that if you start a playlist with this app controlling your Macintosh, then you can read the up next area of the remote app.
I can't assure you of the reliability of the app. While I was trying to learn the remote app, it did crash a few times, but my wife was also playing with my iTunes on the computer, so that might have been reason. If you can't get this to work, I'll attempt to do this via GUI scripting for you, are you OK with using the mini browser?
