actually was not enabled. That's why it didn't work. Now it works
like a charm.

You actually don't need VoiceOver to be controlled by AppleScript for
that feature to work. If it is not checked, it will attempt to use the
built-in speech and use the custom settings you have set in System

savings time. And it is right option-T by default for the time. Notice
there are two radio buttons for which option key you would like to use
in the Keyboard commander under the "commanders" tab.
