TexEdit isn't going to be able to open Pages documents, so if you ever get a file of that format, you won't have much of a choice. As for things like Word d documents, you may be able to open them, but I'm 99.999% sure it won't save them. What in Pages are you having issues with? I mean, by de

Hello Stacey, You have to do this for each type of file you want to edit with TextEdit. So, normally, RTF will open with TextEdit but DOC and DOCX will have to be changed. Select a file of the type you wish to change and press Cmd-i to open the Information window. Interact with the scroll area.
