I have had two Mac Minis— one from 2012, and one from 2024–and neither of them
have chargers because they are not battery powered. They are not MagSafe. They
all use a standard two prong cheater cord to connect to wall power.

Roin,
I don’t even get the startup chime which got before so I have no way of knowing
if the machine is on or not I just have to assoom it isa not coming on. I am
wondering if someone pointed out if the power cord is bad.

Hi,
Try holding down the power button.
You should get into startup and recovery options.
Also be aware that after updating, sometimes you need to re enable voiceover to
auto start at log on.

Wondering if the charger you plug into the wall may be at fault. I've got an M4
Mac Mini, too, and I know the cord is magsafe to USB-c. Do you have another
USB-c wall adapter you could try?

It shouldn’t matter what architecture you were using in the past, because all
your binaries are (or are likely to be, by now) so-called “fat” (“Universal”)
binaries with support for both Apple Silicon and Intel. Any Intel-only apps

Interesting, why not use a Time Machine backup to restore? Migration Assistant
isn’t a hundred percent of what it could be, but it’s not useless either.

I’ve never had any Mac other than a Mac mini. I haven’t tried to use my iPhone
as a camera or mic yet but I’m considering trying it. the only thing I have to
offer is that I successfully used a pair of After Shockz headphones as a Mic.

The built in speaker is not real good.
I prefer using AirPods.
Can’t comment on using an iPhone as a camera and mic, but you can always try it
yourself.
Logitech sells some good HD webcams for about $100, that have a place for a
tripod mount.

If you’re going for something with a speaker, don’t get the Mac Mini. The
speaker is good for when you need to hear VO in a pinch but otherwise, no. I’ve
not used the phone as a Mic, but I did try the camera. The angle was tricky and
I gave it up as they were seeing my nose. But I did not have a
