Why don't you use vlc or cog?
VLC saves the playback position if you quit the program so it resumes
whenn you open the file again from finder even if you played many
files afterwards.

I read 10 12 or 15 hours audiobooks,
doesn't seem like a very good option.
is unbelieveable, the most simple things to do in windows are really

Hi,
Just to clarify. When purchasing Audio Books on the Mac, you can do this
within iTunes and the Audio Books are listened to within iTunes on your Mac.

app on those devices. If you've signed in with your Apple I

Hi Nick,
Yes, it was a .m4b file. I tend to split audio books into multiple parts of no
more than 3 hours at a time. A throw-back to when they seemed to need to be
that way whereas purchased ones often go up as long as 8.5 hours nowadays. Not
sure if that makes any difference but it's a fact
Hi Tim,
Yes, it is a little frustrating in some senses, but it also gives me some hope
that I too could get it to work properly. Maybe the problem is just with the
particular audiobook files I’ve been using. Although, in the one audiobook,

Hi Nick,
Sorry for being slow at checking into this. I just checked things with a audio
book that I ripped from CD using AudioBook Builder and everything worked
perfectly. That is,

Hi,
Haven't tried it yet with any of my non-iTunes Store purchased books. I will
sync one over and see if I can duplicate your issue. May take a few days
though as my wife has me pretty occupied with Garage Sale prep right now.

Well, first let me say that I know the audible app has had a lot of updates,
and I probably haven't used it since January. I used it then because I was on
holiday away from my Mac, but wanted to listen to a book that was only just
released on audible. I was very glad to have the app then.

Hi,
Just curious, what do you like more about the music app than the audible app?
I myself find the experience of listening to audiobooks much better with the
audible app. Especially if listening to books purchased by audible.

And just for the record, you certainly can sync your audible books through
iTunes. This is what I do all the time as I much prefer the iPhone's native
Music player to the audible app, plus it's faster downloading to my Mac than to
my iPhone. But this might change now since some of the annoying c

Hi, It's not something you should have to know or be required to fiddle with

If you are using default settings, you can select the MP3 files, press
VO-Shift-M, and choose Create AAC version. Then rename the extensions
