Hello,
VO-F is using VoiceOver and command F is using the standard text functions.
I believe that by default the VO find treats case as different while the text
search does not. Also, the text search will select text but the VoiceOver
cursor might not go to it. Also note in certain circumstances
A mailbox is essentially a folder. Some, like inbox or drafts, are pre-built;
others are created by the user. The best these can do is have messages filtered
into them by simple rules, usually set up on the server side for IMAP accounts.
Smart mailboxes also hold messages, but they can get their

iCloud drive works a lot more like a traditional file system where you
can have your own files and folders, every app gets its own folder once
you run it first time as well. Regular iCloud is what you had before and
it's what iOS and OS X used to call documents and data. This older

Oh, interesting. That makes sense. thanks, Alex.

My understanding is this:
*A badge is a number, such as how many unread messages or missed calls you have.
*A banner is a bubble that appears at the top of your screen, then
goes away, like when you get a message.

Hi again
John makes use of the insert key for various commands. In laptop mode, it makes
use of the caps lock key instead of the insert key. At least, that's an option.
You might want to set their computer to laptop mode under Jealous. I'm not sure
how it would treat the condition control and op
Hi all,
Thank you so much for all the helpful suggestions.
I will most probably be asked to use JAWS.
Gigi, luckily, I enabled that option soon after I started using VoiceOver as I
was more comfortable that way since I used to use a Windows laptop with JAWS
before I got my Mac.

Esther,
Thanks, I'll try that. I've changed that setting. What differences can I now

Hi Stacy
Yes, that is the option I was talking about. I am never change this on my
computer, but I read about it in the voiceover manual. That's how I knew it
could be done.

Hi Stacey,
I think Gigi went to VoiceOver Utility (VO-F8) and under "Verbosity", went to
the "Text" tab and set the pop up menu button after "When moving the cursor" to
change it from "Speak text the cursor passes" to "Speak text to the right of
the cursor".
HTH.

What option would I change in vo to make it behave more like jaws when typing.
I'm referring to your deleting example.
Stacey and GEB dog Chesley.

Hi Rahul.
Do you know what screen reader they have? If it's Jaws, there is one difference
I would like to point out, and you can practice on it on your Mac ahead of
time. By default, VoiceOver announces a letter when cursor goes over it and
then moves to the right so that you backspace usually
Hi, Typing will be fine. Reading will depend on the windows access

Here are the windows text navigation and selection commends.

Hi, Bill,
VO-shift-space is a simple mouse-click. VO-command-shift-space first performs a
mouse-down, that is, it begins the dragging operation. When you move to the
place you want to drag the item, press VO-command-shift-space again to release
the object into its new location, or "mouse-up".
Oh, that's an important difference. thanks, Rose.

Yes. The free version only allows you to identify ten songs a month. I believe
that includes failures. So if you search for a song and can't identify it, that
may or may not count as an ID. The unlimited version allows you to identify as
many songs as you want.

When I started out I used to use Aliases on the desktop but things became far

The Finder is the application that manages all your files and folders, the Dock
is a bar across the bottom of your screen where you keep shortcuts to your
favourite applications and folders, and the Desktop is where you can find the

Steph,
always think of the finder as windows explorer. It's like that, but simplified
a little. I don't find myself putting aliases (shortcuts), on the desktop. I
just use the doc. Hope this helps,
Wes :)

To bring up your applications folder, hit command, shift, a as in apple.
And, if you need to get to utilities, hit command, shift, u as in under.

You do have another option as well. Since you were using the sync all feature,
You could go through your music library, interact with the songs table, and
uncheck the songs you don't want so, you can free up space on your iPhone.
Note: this will only work if you have your iPhone set
Thanks. So then, if you have the Sync only checked items checked, there's no
reason to also Check manually manage music, right?
thanks,

Right,
But even with the sync selected songs, playlist, artist, etc checked, you can
still manually copy and paste iTems to your iPhone. And this gives you the
flexibility of syncing playlists and such.
