Yeah Hi Tim,
I kind of guessed as much but thought there might be something we don’t know of
down under,
Hell Petrus and I have no access to apple stores like you guys or even
Australia have.
If I can’t get it replaced via insurance then I’ll have to splash out and

If you buy a Mac, you’re committing yourself to Apple’s hardware design
decisions. You’re also acquiring a well integrated combination of hardware and
software that is generally reliable at the operating system level, and which
supports a good variety of applications. If you like this trade-off
Based on what I read. fsck allows one the opportunity to recover
data. I didn't dig much deeper but am surmising that fsck could not
repair the partition. TM transfer will soon be done...in about 9 hours.
:) I probably could have deleted some of it first. Oh well.

Hi,
FSCK is a File System check. Not sure why it rendered your partition read
only, but I don't see any reason why changing the Time Machine to a different
partition would cause you any problems. Of course, you need to ensure that the
partition is formatted MacOS Extended Journaled.

Well I’ll agree they’re bloody expensive (£399 here). But if I have to get an
iPhone I’d rather it be plus-sized. Data connectivity is not critical to me,
but remember, it represents an extra burden (radio you may not be using, and
the need for a SIM card). If Apple could just make a slightly sm
Agreed; seems much more likely that this will be Apple’s opportunity to move us
all into the streaming world. Never say never, I suppose, but at best iTunes
will be in the Utilities folder or something. I can’t imagine them trying to
keep any aspect of the local library management stuff, ripping
Update: I found that it is doable so am going to move the backup now
and sleep all day while waiting. :)

Hi,
Turn Time Machine off from within System Preferences. With TM turned off, you
should be able to erase the partition. TM puts a lock on the volume, which is
why you cannot erase that partition. It is possible that there's a bad sector
or block on that partition, but we'll only go there if
Hi,
Use the Application Chooser, VO-f1-f1. If there is indeed a System dialog, it
will be available to view from there.

Hi,
I've not heard of such a thing and I really doubt that it will ever be an
option. They may design a new non-butterfly option at some point, but I
believe, from history, that once they move forward with something like the new
design, you're out of luck with them going back.

Hi,
If you wish to sync the contacts through iCloud, then you'll need two separate
Apple ID's. If you turn off Contacts within iCloud, then you should be able to
maintain just one Apple ID, but the business iPhone would not have it's
contacts syncing or saved in iCloud. The second option work
Ok, Ben, but have you tried to use Greek voice to read Greek text? I’ve been

I get this behaviour as well. For some time, there’s a mysterious window

Hi, I have a 27 inch iMac running Mojave. No logon password. It builds right

Hi folks.
Just wondering if this could be done?
is there a way to customize the way mail reads?
For example, I might want VO to say subject, from, unread.
also is there a way to change how vo says _?
I’ve set the punctuation to none, but it still says _.

Hi Listers,
It's looking like I'm going to have to replace my mid 2013 11" MacBookAir,
Currently the closest replacement would be the still currently available 2017
version of the mac book air,
Apart from only being able to have 16GB ram in them it's an ok machine if

I’d be surprised if the replacement has a ripping tool in it,

Otherwise yeah that's nice and will give you the ability to provide reasonable

With these new iPods it's cheaper for me to buy the iPhone 8 and get the phone

Not just wifi connectivity
The 256 GB iPod is bloody costly here in nz,
I might have to get one from the states when someone I know is over there in 2
months.

If the price is right I would say get the machine with more power.
