All I did was take a standard 2012 MacBook 13 inch pro and pulled the mechanical drive and put in a Crucial 512 GB SSD. I also used the Crucial suggested memory type and just found 32GB that fit. Made a h uge difference.. We used it for a while but switched it out eventually with 2015 Retina
