I'm confused by what you're seeing, too.
When you're on the messages table but not interacting, what happens when you
press VO-Down Arrow? You should find a horizontal splitter and not be able to
go down any further.

In VoiceOver Utility, Verbosity category, select the Announcements tab and
check the check box Speak text under mouse after delay. Then set the delay to
zero. When you run one finger over the trackpad, VO will speak what is under
the mouse.

I don't find it necessary to turn cursor tracking off. When in the finder, I
just make sure I'm interacting with the browser, pressVO command space on the
item I want to select, and make sure I go to the next item by pressing VO up or
down arrow. Just using the arrows by themselves will d

I guess if its going into a 17 inch MBP, 27" iMac or, Mac pro, a new heat sink
is almost guaranteed to fit. Apple only uses a hand full of cases, and only
certain models can support that processor on the board.

Ah, ok. Well, in the mobile site, you can navigate by links with VO-command-L.
On the full site, you can navigate by headings. each newsfeed heading is a
level 6, so once you get to a newsfeed on heading level 6, you can then either
press VO-command-h or VO-command-M (for same heading number.

I was googling around and the upgrade process sounded non-trivial with
acetone used to clean the heat paste off the old heat sinks to re-attach
them to the new processors. Dunno if I would attempt that.

processor is more trouble than what its worth. Won't upgrading the processor
also mean a new heat sync and fan as well? The easiest way to improve
performance is to always upgrade RAM

Don't give up. I've noticed that the way you are trying to reply doesn't
always work for me either. It works for me if I go over to the subject then
back again, then do vo-shift-m. Then I get the address, copy and whatever else

If I hold down the power button and manually turn it off, and then turn it back
on, it will boot right up to the desktop.

I'm curious about your upgrade. In the past CPU upgrades were kind of
diminishing returns since you then just hit bottlenecks in other parts
of the system, such as RAM, system bus, drive IO and video IO. Are you
doing something that is compute intensive but low bandwidth? Just hoping

used arrow keys to move through the messages. They all just said blank blank

It always figures though, that when sightling is here, I can't get it to do
it so they can tell me what's on the screen.

I do hold the power button to turn it off, that's how I can get the desktop the
second time.
I shut it down with the regular shut down sequence via the apple menu to shut
it down when I am done with it.

handicapped. After that, you're eligible to borrow from the Library of
Congress's music program. So, if you're receiving books from your state's
lending library or downloading books from them, you're good to go.
I've never used anything except the unarchiver snd Safari, so I don't know of
the app you mention has an extraction feature built in.

Maria, you can also get a free file extractor called the unarchiver. Download
and install it, then when you download a bookshare Daity title, you open the
unarchiver, put in your bookshare password, and it extracts the file just as on
a PC. You can then read the book in Safari or other preferred
