This is not a new topic, and this is probably not the right place to ask, but how do I update TexLive in Ubuntu (15.10) or Mint (17.3)?  When TexLive is installed via Ubuntu, there is no package manager, and Ubuntu discourages package management that is done outside of i

When I try to upgrade to Lyx 2.2 using Liviu's ppa, it seems to recognize only Ubuntu version 15.10, and not 16.04 (which is what I am running).  Therefore it fails to find the appropriate file, and fails to upgrade. What am I missing (or am I being too impatient)? Th

Jurgen-- The alt-shift-P-return shortcut does not work in my system/environment, and adding a separate frame (environment?) below is not what I needed to separate one from from the one following it in an existing presentation-- I needed just a separator.

I should know how to do it by now, but SOMETIME (not always) I am still running into an error message: No information about converting GIF files into JPG, or a similar error when I embed a graphics in a Lyx/Beamer file.  It comes with a: pdftex.def error.

I remember the Insert > Separated Frame Below, which has now vanished, at least from my 2.3.2 version.  This is punishment for using something called MX Linux, which has only that antiquated version, without this needed feature.  I also looked for a command buffer but it, too, is hidden.
