It looks that way. I just generated a small test document, opened it in
Adobe Reader, and checked the
e carriage returns.
But it is inconvenient.
So that makes me think LyX needs a "paste special" or something to
allow pasters like us to get our work done more nicely.

It helps to remove the aux file and run again pdflatex. The same
problem occurs with the dvi button. In the LaTeX output, I see two
slashes just before the name of the aux file; I guess only one slash
should appear.
