generic X copy-and-paste not working

If I highlight a URL in my document and then click Insert -> Url the popup window has blank input boxes. Maybe it should automatically place the text or URL. Also, I can't copy and paste into the Url input boxes. I am using LyX 1.4.2. Is this expected behaviour?
