I am using a "book" class. I have a tableofcontents and I have a printindex{} at end.

How can I get my generated books' table of contents to also have an entry that says: Index with the correct page number?

Jeremy,

 Mine does this automagically. Have you used the Insert->Lists & ToC->Index
List at the very end of your document?

Yes, that is what I did. I also removed it and redid that. No change.

My document has 58 pages; the last content in on page 57 and the Index is on page 58. My table of contents does have an entry for a Section I have on 57 (but ends there).

 However, you can try:

\addcontentsline{toc}{chapter}{Index}
at the beginning of the index.

I added a "\newpage{}" immediately before (without it said the Index was on previous page, 57) and used that "\addcontentsline{toc}{chapter}{Index}".

Thanks for the info. Problem solved!
