Hmm. I'm not sure what to suggest. If you have dvipost installed, you've
reset the outer margin, and you are creating the PDF from View > PDF
(dvipdfm) then I'm stumped.
I would doublecheck the installation and review the Wiki page, be sure
that change bars are on, and

Thanks for the suggestion.
I tried changing the out margin to quite a large value but still no sign of
change bars.

I've found that you need to change the outer margins so that the change
bars show. With my normal, printing margins the change bars were off the
page.

Is there ant way of having them appear on the printed page?

Thank you for the new release of LyX! I have two files that

now, the configure thing is something annoying i will check up on
later on - now i want to get change-bars going - and it is happening!
it seems to be important where you place the cursor in the document
when enabling "track changes". placing the cursor

only the dvips line was missing - and that worked. now, i was

lyx builds nicely after applying the patch. i can enable "track
changes" upon starting lyx, however, an old problem is reoccuring
preventing me from testing further.
its been discussed at the list previously, but i never found the solution:

unfortunately change bars did not make it into the lyx 1.3.6 release. i
am looking forward for the change bars to move into an official release
because otherwise i am not sure what happens to the bug reports and
suggestions submitted to the list. maybe someone knows?

No. This bug has been fixed in 1
inserting space in deleted text offsets all deletions in the rest of the

2) enable track changes
3) delete the text
(the text now shos red and crossed out)
4) insert a double-space within the crossed out text

The earlier version (1.3.3) works just fine (except that it doesn't have
change bars).
Any ideas? Workarounds?
You may want to try the patch by Johnathan Burchill at the following
link.. Johnathan adapted John Levon's change tracking code in cvs
and created this patch for 1.3.2 ..
The document uses a missing TeX class "article".

I can see the file on screen, but can't output it at all.
The earlier version (1.3.3) works just fine (except that it doesn't have
change bars).

I must admit that I'm not even anything resembling a programmer, I just
use Lyx to edit technical documents, at my bosses request. My problem is
that I need to insert change bars to our document, to show the
differences from version to version. I read on this mailing list that

I am currently using Lyx to edit technical documents.
I need to set change bars in my documents, so I used the chbar.sh
script.
It appears that, if a change occurs in a particular row of a table, it
is not possible to set the change bar only on the row that changed,
since there is a pdflatex
