I've created the attached patch against the LyX 1.3.6 sources. Copy it to the top level LyX 1.3.6 source directory and apply it with: $ bunzip2 lyx-1.3.6-changebars.diff.bz2 $ patch -p1 < lyx-1.3.6-changebars.diff I have confirmed that the resulting sources build here. I have *not* tried to use it. So, please test thoroughly.
