I am having problems working with pdf files generated by the drawing program
ipe in LyX. (These are hybrid pdf that contain embedded code so that they can
be re-edited.) When I insert such a pdf in LyX it doesn’t show up in the work
area at all except for a blank space, although the
required fields.
Probably the best way is to start from a template. In LyX, you may do this from
File / New from template ... / Letters / Koma Script Letter. The template with
the default values compiles successfully to pdf, with LyX-2.4.0-RC3 under
Windows.

Compared to version 2.3.7 and from the default settings the difference is
obvious.
The PDF (graphic) option is set to pdfview... But by changing the parameters
(custom, default system...) It's still just as ugly... On the other hand, the
pdflatex export is very good.
