Hi Rob,
I hope you're putting this technique in your new book!
Also, I hope you put it in your book in such a way that the reader can put
everything together as a single PDF. I would think that Scribus would be a
MUCH better way to construct the cover, title page and copyright page than
LyX. /
Sajjad,
While you're at it, also take a look at Scribus. It's a good way to
create title pages and other layout intensive documents. ERT is a good
way to go if you are going to use the document template many times

I'm a big fan of putting title pages together in Scribus. It allows you
to be anally particular about where things go, what fonts you want to
use, etc. I also find that it's easier to use for layout work than
OpenOffice. When you're done, you can export your masterpiece as a PDF

The way I do this type of thing is to construct the frontmatter, including
the cover, in LyX using ERT and custom environments. That's a few hours of
LaTeX ERT work to get it looking just how you want it to, but I think it's
worth it.
A second way you can do it is to use pdftk to tack the Word

I edited a small book recently which had cross references to labelled sections
in each chapter.
The chapters were written as individual lyx files and then included in a master
document.
However, it seems all the crossreferences pointed to the same section - which
incidentally was not correct f

If you work with real LyX(LaTeX) files you should use
include (writes an own aux-file) and divide your main doc

I think this is a feature of either \input or \include.

Use 'input' and not 'include'.

Hallo!

I just tried to include a simple ASCII file including tabs with
Insert->Include file, option Verbatim
But the tabs seem to be silently ignored, they even are not interpreted as blanks.
Is there a way to get them used or is this a featue/bug?

When cutting and pasting a box that uses "input"
to include a file, the "input" is changed to "include"
after the paste.
