Hi,
I've been trying to rotate a figure and its caption 90 degrees.
So far, what I get is that the figure and the caption are rotated
independently, one below the other.
However, the caption should appear next to the figure after rotation.
Is there a way or trick how to do that?

Rob.
Hi,
When I use "SGML (LinuxDoc Article)" as my document format, I can include graphics
into the LyX-document, but when I export it as HTML, LaTeX or PS, the graphics is gone.
Is that a "feature" of LinuxDoc or a bug in my setup?

Rob.
Hi,
I started a docbook document, hoping that this would be the base format for
conversion later to sgml, html, latex etc. Is that the right choice?
When I export the LyX-Docbook document as html or latex, the sgml2html/sgml2latex
complains:
load_char_maps: no entity maps found
parse_data: no
Hi,
I have an "article" lyx document, which has
a Title
an Author name1 and name2[footnote: tel+email]
an Address
an Abstract
and rest of paper and this looks alright.
(Although, why is there automagically a date after the names?)
I need, however,
a Title
an Author name1
an Address of n

Hi,
I have in my document as display math:
T = arctan E
which sets the "T" as slanted (as math usually does), but the "E" after
arctan (which is a \arctan) is NOT slanted.
Is that the correct behaviour or is this a bug in LyX?
(I'm running LyX-CVS)
However, I need this "E" to be slant

Would it be a good idea to have LyX use a default measure unit,
when not typing it explicitly? Let that be adjustable in the
Hi,
I want to change float numbering:
from "Table 1" into "Table S1" etc.
from "Figure 1" into "Figure S1" etc.
So all numbers must get a certain prefix ("S" in this example).
Is it easy to define this prefix somewhere in the document?
Thanks,
Rob.

Have you tried changing the character style?
Check out: Layout->Character (or something like that).

Hi,
How can I tell in LyX to make some of my math symbols in color?
For example
m = 2 * sin(x)
then I want "sin(x)" in red color.
Simply mark that part of the math text and choose "red" in Character Layout, doesn't
work.
Any ideas?

Upgrade to 1.1.5fix2.
Hi,
A collegue of mine, using 1.1.5-CJK, complains about the
small difference in color for regular text (black) and
TeX-mode text (dark red).
Can he change that color ?
I found in lyxrc lines like:
# To change the colors for footnotes:
#\set_color footnote green
# for mathed you may a

Hello,
I use a bibtex file, that has all the fields filled in,
such as the journal title.
Now I don't want the titles (and some other fields) to
go into the reference list of my current document.
Is there a way to set the style of the reference list
in my document, without editing the bibtex f

Go into TeX mode and type {\AA }?
That works for me.

Hi,
I have in Display mode a Math-matrix with certain dimensions
all set up with beautiful formulas already.
However, I need to add another row to this matrix.
Is there a LyX tool to do that (similar to add/change
the dimensions of a table) ?
The Matrix in the Math-panel seems always to add a
Hi,

I'm running 1.1.6CVS w/ Xforms 0.89.

Whether a citation in the lyx document is
separated by a space or "glued" to the previous
word, doesn't matter in the final layout, where
it's always separated by a space.
For example:
Lyx: ...earlier work[Barker89]
or
Lyx: ..
Hi,
I can't figure it out. The manual also has no explanation.
Is something actually done when "Do translations" is selected?
I can't see any change!

Hello,
I just found out that lyx has commandline options as well.
What surprises me is the xpos/ypos/width/height option.
Wouldn't it be more consistent to use the general
geometry options as defined by X11 Window System:
-geometry WIDTHxHEIGHT+XOFF+YOFF

Hi,
I've upgraded to the recent 1.1.6cvs.
I have xforms 0.89 installed.
After the default
autogen.sh
configure
make
make install
I do a 'ldd lyx', which shows:
libXpm.so.4 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXpm.so.4 (0x4001c000)
libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x4002a000)

Hi,
[Maybe this should go to the lyx-devel list, but I'm
not a member of that (too much load on my mail box)]
I'm running the 1.1.6cvs (as of June 6th) w/ xforms 0.88.1-1

Hi,
I import a LaTeX file into LyX. The Latex file is generated
by the sgml package using the sgml2latex tool.
It has a few \usepackage statements at the top, which
are not found by LyX/latex: linuxdoc-sgml, qwertz and null.
When I search for these packages, they seem to be from the sgml-tools
Hi,
I'm running LyX 1.1.5 on a Linux (RH 6.2) PC.
I use citation references (from a bibtex database).
For clarity I've choosen the reference-Id's to be
rather long, for example: Petterson_JCP_1989
The problem now is when I have several references one
after another. Most of them will be beyond
