Click: Insert - short title
and then write a shorter title after the title of the figure. In the TOC
the short title is displayed. Also works for section titles etc. and
works is both TOC and headers etc.

I just upgraded from 1.3.something to 1.4.0 yesterday. It seemed
fine/better with what I was working on, but today I opened up an older
project and the output cuts off about half of the footnotes at the
bottom of each page! It was set to A4 paper size previously, and I

Yes. 1.4.1 has many improvements. It should be out in a few weeks, if
not in few days. If you are impatient, and are using a linux system,
you can compile the latest 1.4.xcvs by
the 'citation style' option in the dialog that comes up when adding a
citation is greyed out. is there a way to change the style? in some
cases I'd like to remove the brackets, and in come cases I'd like to
give a full citation of the reference as it appears in my bibliography
in the body of th

thank you for suggesting to subdivide the manuscript. (It grows longer
and longer ...) I wanted to try myself but was hesitating. The main
disadvantage of the long manuscript is that pdflatex takes a while.
Will this be shortened by subdividing the manuscript?
