i.e. setting the margin to a negative value.

works just fine.
What is confusing is that the margin is the white
space on the edge of the paper. One would think
I am not sure how to make margins in my document
wider. I have read the tips and tricks on the
subject and I have followed the examples but they are
not helping. The only thing I can find is to
increase the size of the margins. I can not find how
to decrease them.
