The best way to download is to use an ftp program. I use ncftp or gftp,
but this is largely a matter of taste. If by an
Hi all, I'm new to Lyx but not to Linux. I'm currently using the 1.1.6fix1

Lyx, but the proper symbols DO show up in the DVI preview.

Hi,
I have a weird behaviour when using hyperref with ruled floats. I know
this is LaTeX stuff but maybe someone can help me (Herbert are you here
;-).
Without hyperref a ruled float appears with three rules, two enclosing
the float an another under the caption. In addition the caption is at

done. So I read a few short stories an

In tex (red) type \copyright
Lots of special symbols are available from standard TeX commands. Have a look

looked carefully all of them for the answer -- and I've looked through the

You can try the cv class, which is distributed with lyx 1.1.6fix3 but

It seems, the problem is that hyperref redefines \contentsline, because it
needs additional information. So you have to provide the extra argument. If
I add the extra argument as shown below everything works fine with the

Recently I hada similar problem on Mandrake Linux, and I have found that the
new style files installed under the TeX tree at /usr/share/texmf/ etc have
permissions of 600, ie only root can read them, this of course stops lyx
from noticing them.

Hi all,
I have been toying with the idea of writing some document in XML. So far,
some of it has been done in KomaScript (article, I think). I have to put
graphics and stuff, and I'd like to tranlsate it to a webpage as well. I
also want
to get to know XML and stuff.

Hi Herbert,
Thanks for your precious help. I tried psfrag and it worked fine to me.
That's it.

Did you 1) put the files under the TeX tree, 2) run texconfig rehash? All you
need to do now is say in the preamble "\usepackage{thesis}", to make the
thesis commands available to you in LyX.

Thank you! This is what I was thinking myself, just didn't
know exactly how to do it.
However, now the Section style lines get indented when compared
to the Section* style. And this quite messes up my careful
formatting. An
Hi,
1. According to Herbert's LyxTips I can get it by latex command

Hi folks,
At this time, I'm having a hard time trying to install the CTAN's thesis
package on LyX. I followed the instructions of LyX customization help
file but it seemed not to work at all. Is there something more I should
know about that?
Thanks.
Clodoaldo.

I got this horizontal tree code from Herbert Voss' homepage and I tried to

\psframebox[linestyle=solid]{#1}}}
