I haven't tried all of these either. I use a home-brewed one which is derived from currvita. The latter is available form CTAN: http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/supported/currvita/ I guess CVs are country specific to a certain degree and this one is written with German customs in mind, so I don't know if that's any help for you.
