Agreed.
But maybe better making this even more generic:

Hi lyx-devel,
It would be useful to support this feature because we could perform a
replace-all within a selection and quickly achieve the desired result without
clobbering the rest of the document.

Unfortunately, adding support for special characters in find&replace,
while really necessary, is not easy to do and will certain

Thanks for your report.
I took a look at lyxfr1.C, replacing something in the end
Hi,
if I load a document and try to delete every space by doing a replace which
searchs for a space and replaces it with nothing, LyX goes into an infinite
loop replacing the same space.
I hope this is not a known bug. I use v1.0.1.
Hello,
I believe that I have fixed a bug in find and replace,, which would
match an inset and a space, for some unknown reason. Since I changed a
bit the code to do this, I'd appreciate if you could try out the
latest cvs build to see whether this feature works as you'd expect.

If I enter "priorit" to find, and then find an instance so that it is
highlighted, then change the find entry to "priorities", it will not be
found when the only occurrence of "priorities" in the document is the same
as the occurrence of "priorit" that has just been highlighted. Whether I

IMHO you have to handle the whole document, the order doesn't matter to much
though.

It's not ready yet, I couldn't get this running, it just doesn't display
the number:
minibuffer->Set(LString(int(replace_count))+_(" strings have been replaced."));
Any idea? (replace_count is an unsigned int
