are you fine if we go for the (unthreaded) implementation I had proposed,
for 2.0.0 ? If I have some time, I'd like to focus on fixing the nasty bugs
when using regular expressions and the like.
At least, we have a way to stop the long operation. We can postpone
better designed approaches for later releases.
