My tests are on Windows 10 1809.
1) One set of problems is the limited/buggy resizing capability of the
Widget. The following may be related.
1.1) If docked to the bottom, it takes too much vertical space (cannot
be resized to a reasonable size).
1.2) After it has been docked to the bottom, it takes too much
horizontal space when docked to the side.
1.3) The undocked state (vertical or horizontal) depends on the last
docked state rather than the best orientation for its size. For
example, in the Code Preview this works much better.
2) It is a universal feature of find dialogs/widgets that on the
command to open them (Ctrl+F or via the menu), all text in the find
field gets selected. This makes a lot of sense if one wants to do
repeated searches. (See also https://www.lyx.org/trac/ticket/10235 for
more details.)
3) At times there are multiple cursors visible: when opening Advance F&R
for the first time, when hovering over an inset.
4) The Outliner gets locked when the cursor is in the Search or Replace
field (https://www.lyx.org/trac/ticket/11548).
