Specifically, if I use Windows to open a Unix-encoded .lyx file, then
after saving it will have Windows-style CR/LF endings.

I have just installed the new version of lyx 1.6.6 for windows xp system.
But I did not find the corresponding lyx file for help (menu). Can anyone tell
me how to find them?

lyxrc.dist relative to the LyX installation directory?
For example, instead of,
\path_prefix "C:\Program Files (x86)\LyX16\dir"
something like:
\path_prefix "%LYXDIR%\dir"
