Microsoft Word has so many features that are very hard to express
in XML format, so I doubt that XML will become the main format for

I've run into a "behaviour" that hasn't occurred with previous versions of
lyx. After upgrading from 1.0.3 to 1.0.4, Lyx is now including extra
spaces in subscripts when a file is closed and reopened. For example:
\beta
z
becomes
\beta
z

on a RH5.1 system with the default egcs-1.0.2 compiler. These rpms should
work on all RH5.x machines.
I tried to download them into the "incoming" subdirectories of ftp.lyx.org
and ftp.devel.lyx.org, but I failed
