Why not just call the dialog box "undo mode"? Or better yet create another
major button, so we have "apply" and "undo" buttons?

The other good news is that 1.2 will be linkable with GNOME, meaning that
people will be able to make it truly GNU. Except that only their personal copy
will be gnu, because other people's copies will be linked with xforms. This is
confusing!

Did you run /sbin/ldconfig -v as root user ?
Does libforms.a show up there ?
Which version of
a) Linux
b) LyX
c) XForms
do you have ?

Hi,
I don't know what to make of this. I downloaded lyx for
Linux to my machine. I needed to get Xforms, I did so.
I installed xforms using the Makefile that comes with it ...
doing : make install ... and the library was put into
/usr/lib ... where it should be:
[root@rose lyx-0.12.0]# ls /usr/l

One more thing. Is the current toggling stuff correctly documented in the
user's guide (or wherever)? Just looked at the User's guide and, for example,
it still says there's an OK button, and doesn't mention the old toggling
thing.

While we're cleaning up, it might be a good idea to clarify the
license, even if we don't switch.
Regardless of our past statements, lyx is not GPL, but quasi-GPL.
The act of releasing LyX under the GPL while it dependent upon xforms
has two interpetations:
1) we're complete idiots and in viol

Garst would probably say that it works better poetically (or mathematically)
if you say "those that can't, write". :)
I believe we should overhaul this document, after engaging in a
free-for-all suggestion orgy lasting at least a week or two.
We started this process once, months ago, but I think this document was put
on the shelf, without many changes based on those discussions.
Some of the ideas tossed around

Those who can't write, format.
That's why LyX is for writers. ;-)

Regarding the www.lyx.org homepage:
I tried to port my fancy php3 scheme from the developer's site to la1ad, but
unfortunately the php installed on la1ad is too braindead to understand
it.
So, I have not updated the web-pages on la1ad.
Instead, I'll probably start to reimplement the pages on na

Haven't done anything useful yet, really, beside some scripting stuff. Just
