If you have only Microsoft Windows workstations (i.e. Win3.1, wfw, Win95, Win98) or DOS, you can configure Samba to handle network logons (just like Windows NT). This option is fairly attractive if you have the mentions workstations. I run a Red Hat server on a 10 user network attached to a wan.
