Yes I had the same problems with native lilypond but there are some work arounds.
Setting path to lilypond.exe doesn't work as there are some problems later with missing files that are there.
The way I use jEdit with Lilypond is to load the file into jEdit. I press the make lilypond file icon. It
advanced users offering all the bells and whistles. If I could get the linux version up and running I would use it. But might have to wait for a new version for that to happen. But in the meantime windows and native does work .. there's just a bit of coercion needed.

The batch file creates the .dvi, .pdf, .ps and .log files. Acrobat
opens the .pdf without any problems. Should I just ignore the errors?

I started using lilypond a couple of months ago but soon had to abandon it
because of its weak figured bass support. I've been following the
developments for a while in hope that the support for figured bass would be
strengthened. At this stage I have seen no sign of this. Is it
I am trying to download Lilypond for windows at work (where I have DSL),
then save the 66mb download to cd as directory cygwin, then write cygwin to
my c drive at home (where I only have a 56k modem) and install it. It says
installation is complete, but when I run the test, no output is produced.
When I run test.ly, after apparently installing it correctly under Windows
XP, no output is produced. The first time, it flashed error messages I
couldn't read, but if I try to run it now, it just flashes a blank screen-
no output. Also, no test.log is produced.

I found this command to force Lilypond to show the current Clef:
\set Staff.forceClef = ##t
Is there a command to also force to print the current key signature after the
clef?
