Some year ago, we had a discussion about footnotes in LilyPond.
Basically, if you say c^"\\footnote{A comment}", you will get a
footnote mark above the music but that actual footnote is never printed.
I just made a small investigation and the problem turns out to be that
footnotes in general don't

There are two issues involved here:
- At line breaks, you often don't want the same bar type at the end of a
line and at the beginning of the next line. For example, if you have a

not at the end of the previous line. LilyP
Definitely not beginners questions!

Yes, this works, thanks!
Regarding the other things: should I formally file bug reports for things like
this or is it
Yes, I'll try to do that. I think for now I'll just do it like daveA suggested
and comment those sections in the source, so I find them again, and when I
have time I'll see if there is literature on this in the library.

Well, thanks for your reply. Changing the order enables the use of \bar ".|" at the
beginning of the staff, yes. Great, that is perfect for another thing
This is for displaying a guitar fret, just by modifying a Staff. Look at the attached

Is there a time frame for producing a 2.0 distribution for Windows? I'm
looking forward to using it, after tinkering with 1.8 and reading the 2.0
documents!
Thanks,

I've updated LilyJHelp, i.e. LilyPond documentation in JavaHelp format.
New feature: Index (unified index for User's and Hacker's Manual).
Changes from previous release:
* documentation files are now integrated into the package (because I had to
change them a bit)
* some files are removed (the on

Sorry to be so dense, but how does one obtain 2.0 for Windows on the Cygwin
server? I tried installing the latest Cygwin, but it is still at 1.8.
