To switch between the versions, I have to execute the according BAT file
first.
Well, and there is no warrenty for the future, it may happen that some
versions will not cooperate with this method.

The Wikipedia article on Frescobaldi says that it will work with more than
one version of LilyPond installed. How do I install more than one version
under Windows7? Is there something special needed in Frescobaldi as well to
make it call the version with which I'm working?
Thanks!

Frescobaldi can do this indeed (in the 1.1 series). You can configure a list
of LilyPond binaries of different versions (they don't even have to be in the
PATH, just do
I would suggest install a linux partition with fedora or ubuntu. :-) These
OS reached a very good level already and you will be pleased with them!

Maybe it can, but not on Windows XP as James asked. It depends on KDE
modules that are unfortunately not yet ported to Windows.

Hello list,
I would like to have several versions of LilyPond installed at the same
time to be able to test lilypond code in different versions.
What would be the best way to accomplish this on Windows XP and Ubuntu
Linux?
I recall having read something about a renaming/symlink solution on

If I keep "11pt" in the code, I get several warnings from lilypond-book

Like in any normal LaTeX document. What you saw before was a
bug in the old lilypond-book.

After some tweaking I've found that in 2.1.28:
- to add line breaks between fragments, I just add 2 empty lines in
input file,
- to avoid some latex-processing errors, all I had to do was to replace
the old "11pt" option in \begin[11pt]{lilypond} with "staffwidth=11".
This is quite weird, because

That actually doesn't work due to some refactoring of the code. You
can simply use

Have you seen lilypond --help?
It says you can use this:
lilypond-book --filter="convert-ly --no-version --from=2.0.0 -" BOOK
Do you not need this?

I'm writing something like a book of cello exercises, with a lot of
short music fragments and some text.
I find a combination of LaTeX and Lilypond-book a perfect tool for my
work, at least in theory.
However, there are some problems in practice.
