The Panasonic door box, with a separate condenser mic and speaker, generally
performs better than the Viking units I'v used, which use a 32 ohm speaker

An interface via Windows 200/XP or via Lantronix sounds interesting! I am
using A JDS StarGate for home control, and I have been able to interface some
features by DTMF dialing from the StarGate- i.e. turning Night Service on and
off, etc., but a good serial interface would be much more useful
My understanding of the Caller ID Table (Programs 110-111) is that if an
incoming call has caller ID, and matches a number in the Caller ID Code Set, then
the corresponding Caller ID Name is displayed instead of whatever info the
Caller ID carries.
However, all of my incoming calls just display
The material in the Suttle "Corro-Shield" jacks is definitely NOT the same
as Silicone sealant or the goo inside UY connectors!
It is a special formulation that moves out of the way when a plug is
inserted, and moves back to cover the jack wires when the plug is removed.
They are highly rec
Does anyone have details on the best way to physically prewire for and mount
these?
Will they mount on a standard single-gang ring? How much clearance is
needed between the top of the ring and the ceiling for the antennas?
Thanks- we are prewiring a house for the system . . .

B&B Electronics (_http://www.bb-elec.com/ethernet_to_serial.asp_

serial-to-Ethernet adapters that should do the job.
You can connect it to the serial port on your KSU, and view the port from
any configured PC
I'm not sure if you need more suggestions, but I have seen some
microswitches (usually in surplus places) that have a "one-way" feature- they
have a
spring-loaded lever attached that will trip the switch when an object passes
on
one direction, but fold if it passes the other way.

Hi
We have a customer with a KX-TD1232-7 and a TVS50 in a large residence. He
wants to eliminate a bunch of wrong number calls by having all calls answered
by auto-attendant, and requiring callers to enter a valid first name.
If the name matches one in the list, he wants most of the phones
A VOIP line will not be acceptable for Fax traffic
Definitely NOT true! I use an AT&T CallVantage for my fax line, and it
works perfectly! There is a setting for fax/modem usage in the AT&T setup
menus,

Hello!
I am having a strange problem with a KX-TD1232-6!
If I program the system to automatically set the time from Caller ID
(Program 990, Area 05, Bit 1), The system soon resets the entire clock to 12:00
January 1 2006! Of course, this screws up all of the Day/Night Mode settings!

The manual says it's at 3 am, but it shouldn't be setting to January 1!
The 990 parameters for Area 5 were set to "1110"
Caller ID appears to be working on the telephone sets.

Well, I just figured out a piece of the puzzle!
It appears that my second CO line, which is actually an AT&T CallVantage
VoIP line, is sending out false CID info!
If my first call after 3AM is on my land-line, my CID is correct for the
day; if the first call is on the VoIP line, the tim
Actually, there's now a very simple way to do that- if you install one or
more VoIP lines, you can make them appear as analog lines at each system
anywhere in the world, just my putting a VoIP modem at each location, and
linking them all to the same telephone number.
I'm using XCast Labs fo
