You are right, that undoubtedly added extra weight. What are you seeing for
climb and cruise and what prop are you using?

Mine is 565 empty, 875 gross. I'd guess you can knock 80 lbs off of that
easily just by sticking to the plan layup schedule. Mine has the entire
boat wrapped in a layer, multiple layers on the wings. It also has GPAS
1776 with full electrics, good for another 30 or 40 lbs.

If you have a finished KR-1, would you please post your empty weight? The
original article in Sport Aviation by Jack Cox listed Ken's at 310 lbs using a
1200 cc VW. Current plans show 375 lbs for EW, and I would just like some
real-world numbers if possible. I am finally going to have some time
