Thanks for all your concerns.
My geared RG 2000 engine has a flywheel and gear reduction.
I do not remember saying anything about over revving or flogging my engine,
I did say I started it up.
Vw Engines also ran it last week without a prop, just check they fixed all
the oil leaks.

I am using a 3 inch extension for my 0200. I don't know how you would put a
cowling on it otherwise.

ye-ha. Well not quite but at least woopee.
I started my 0200 last night that I removed from my citabria 4 years ago. I
had spent the last week or more getting every thing hooked up properly,. I had
spent a week modifying the exhaust to make it fit inside a streamlined cowling.

I have an 1835 VW engine that I will be starting soon. My question: Is it
okay
to start the engine and run it a minute or two or two, without damage? ( It
would be
convenient not to have the prop in the way)
Thanks for your replys.
I ran my Vdub 1835 at idle and slightly above for about 2 minutes total without
dire consequences. I was using Mystery Oil to get lube to distant parts of the
engine because it had not been started in years. Your mileage may vary.
