Mike;
By looking at the undercamber of the wing and the design of the lift strut
attachment, that is a Pietenpol Air Camper in the photo and that is a
Johnson-style airspeed indicator... and a crude one at that. Plans for making
those are available on the internet, although they are quite eas
Haha, that one is great!
In the Netherlands we need the instruments in TSO certificaat. Can we order this

If you ever get stuck in clouds and need to go into needle/ball/airspeed
mode to keep right side up, an indicator with more needle movement would
be more useful. That is to say Stef, the one you picked is better than
one with a higher speed range since one with a higher speed range would
produce l

Joe,
A blockage in the Pitot tube or pitot plumbing will cause the ASI to lag,
reading low at times, then high when you slow down. A blockage in the static
system will cause the ASI to be erratic, reading both high and low at times as
altitude changes. If the ASI is functioning normally, but

Spiders can create egg pouches deep inside the tubes.

See http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/airspeed_calibration/ for details. I'm
also swapping out the static system, so I think I'll be in business by this
