Phil,
It sounds like they use an additive that cuts down on the typical Sytrene"
smell that is common with VE and PE resins. The additive doesn't affect the
finished product any, it just cuts down on the smell. I used to have the trade
names on my computer, but that was before the crash.

This is a issue with a lot of electronics, and there are "Standard" designs for
protecting the desired items.

There is usually a fuse or circuit breaker "upstream" of the circuit
Jim,
You've brought up some very good points, I've seen Zeners used like you said,
when there is a spike big enough to trigger them, they become a solid short to
ground. SO they need to be replaced after they trigger, but they do save more
expensive electronics from DEATH. And yes I've replaced

It pays to know your wood, some of the "Baltic Birch" is glued with water proof
glues, and some isn't. A test of a small sample from each sheet wouldn't be a
bad idea. Back in the 70's I tested some non aircraft grade Finnish birch
plywood, several pannels were boil proof, and one came apar

My 2 cents worth is that you need either a closed loop or some thing to prevent
the rudder pedal from going all the to the floor, or firewall. This is
recommended in one of Tony B's books.
And the reason is shown by a friends accident back in the mid 60's he was

Mark,
If your feet aren't in place to stop the pedal it could go so that one hits the
firewall and one the floor. And Luscombs have heel brakes.

Scott,
Along tima ago I worked with Ti Bolts on F-4's. There is a NAS spec for them,
and if they meet or exceed the strength for AN Bolts, us them and if the FAA
questions then show them the Spec.

Dan,
I'd be careful, more than one engine has swallowed bits of spring, when some
one tried this trick. You can read about the problems in Tony B's writings.

IIRC There is a KR-2 based out of Brigham City to the North of SLC. And there

Orma,
I just had a "brain fart" on your turbo cooling issues. While an insulating
sheild of some sort will protect the imediate area, there is still the issue of
trapped heat in the rest of the cowling. A better solution IMHO is a simple
"trap door"
that is held closed by the flow of cooling air
